DecisionPoint Technologies unifies post-merger operations with NetSuite

DecisionPoint Technologies helps businesses in retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics improve their operations with software, hands-free wearable devices and point-of -sale systems that provide real-time visibility into inventory and improve supply chain management. Born out of a merger between two companies using different financial management systems, DecisionPoint Technologies landed on NetSuite for its financial reporting, sales tracking, and customer management. NetSuite’s platform allowed DecisionPoint Technologies to quickly integrate the two businesses, letting the combined company support more enterprise-level customers across a variety of industries.

“Barcoding had seen NetSuite support our organization through significant revenue growth, acquisitions, and additional headcount. NetSuite was the clear choice for an ERP for our new larger organization. The platform has the flexibility and ease of use our sales, operations, and supply chain teams need.” Noel McKeon, Director of Business Development, DecisionPoint Technologies

DecisionPoint Technologies simplifies consolidation and reporting

The right solution for mergers
During its 2024 merger with Barcoding, a provider of inventory management and supply chain optimization products, the company debated keeping its current Sage system or adopting NetSuite, which was Barcoding’s ERP. In its evaluation, DecisionPoint saw how NetSuite had supported Barcoding through significant revenue growth and acquisition. NetSuite's ability to support new sales, operations, and supply chain teams made it the standout system for the larger organisation.
Consolidation of disparate data
NetSuite quickly provided real-time consolidation of financial data from the combined entities for immediate visibility into the larger organisation’s performance. NetSuite also made financial reporting post-acquisition easier by handling different accounting standards, automating intercompany transactions, and establishing standardised reporting for the entire organisation. Sales opportunity tracking was simplified by replacing legacy systems and standardising the sales data from the merged companies. Importantly, customer data previously held in different systems prior to the acquisition is now unified in NetSuite, making customer management and communication between the merged entities easier.
NetSuite’s foundation fuels the future
With NetSuite OneWorld, DecisionPoint gained a single system for managing both financial and business operations across its four subsidiaries, cutting down time-consuming financial consolidation for the company while providing better visibility into operations and finance. The company also expanded on Barcoding’s use of NetSuite SuiteCommerce to deliver omnichannel shopping experiences for all its products.
The payoff: customer satisfaction, efficiency, and revenue growth
DecisionPoint’s revenue has grown by more than 15% to $300 million a year since the merger. As a result of using NetSuite, the company has seen an increase in order efficiency and in satisfaction among American customers in field service, distribution, warehousing, and retail industries. DecisionPoint expects that all to continue as it plans for additional acquisitions in the coming months.
