Naturale Labs, maker of Beach Hut sunblock, shines with NetSuite

Philippine Company Moves Mission-Critical Business Processes to the Cloud, Ramping Up Operational Efficiency and Visibility

NETSUITE SUITEWORLD 2015, SAN JOSE, Calif.—May 6, 2015—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, today announced that Naturale Labs has implemented NetSuite’s integrated cloud business management solution to transform and drive efficiency and visibility across its manufacturing and distribution business. Naturale Labs, headquartered in Manila, Philippines and with a satellite office in Indonesia, is the maker and distributor of the popular Beach Hut sunblock line. The company is using NetSuite to run mission-critical business processes in the cloud including financials, sales reporting, order and inventory management, distribution and purchasing from suppliers and manufacturers. Naturale Labs, which is a subsidiary of the larger Dragon Edge Group (DEG), also uses NetSuite to manage distribution to retailers that offer Beach Hut products in more than 3,000 supermarket, convenience stores and other retail locations in the Philippines.

"NetSuite provides Naturale Labs with great transparency into inventory and sales that we never had in our previous environment," said Dennis Balajadia, President and Founder of DEG. "We can now easily run reports on sales and automate large numbers of transactions on a daily basis. We’ve eliminated a great deal of manual work and can focus more time and resources on growing the business."

Prior to NetSuite, Naturale Labs was relying on manual processes with Excel spreadsheets, email and paper reports. But as the business grew and complexity increased, the company faced process delays and limited visibility because of its manual, time-consuming and potentially error-prone mix of systems. Naturale Labs lacked a single unified source of reliable, real-time data to inform business decisions, imposing limitations to Naturale Labs’ profitability and growth potential. After a failed implementation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision), which was never fully deployed because of time and cost overrun issues, Naturale Labs quickly bounced back, selecting NetSuite’s unified cloud solution to manage all core business functions and avoiding the need for costly on-premise IT systems and staff that would be required with an alternative in-house approach. After going live in NetSuite in February 2015, with the help of CloudTech, a 5-Star NetSuite Solution Provider partner in the Philippines, Naturale Labs has realised benefits from running NetSuite including:

  • Gaining real-time monitoring of sales and inventory across multiple locations, enabling Naturale Labs to ensure that its network of retail partners are stocked with Beach Hut sun lotion according to seasonal demands.
  • Improving its business speed and precision while gaining the flexibility for further expansion in the Philippines and internationally.
  • Dramatically reduced manual processes in its local operations, gaining the efficiency it needed in order to focus on more strategic business initiatives.

Introduced in the Philippine market as the first and only local sunblock in spray form in 2006, Beach Hut ( was the first brand created under DEG, which now manufactures and distributes almost 10 product brands. Naturale Labs was formed in 2008 by DEG to house its premier Beach Hut sunblock line, which apart from the Philippines is also being sold in two major tourist destinations in Asia—Phuket, Thailand and Bali, Indonesia. The company also runs the popular hangout place Beach Hut Bar in Boracay Island, Philippines.

Today, approximately 24,000 companies and subsidiaries depend on NetSuite to run complex, mission-critical business processes globally in the cloud. Since its inception in 1998, NetSuite has established itself as the leading provider of enterprise-class cloud ERP suites for divisions of large enterprises and mid-sized organisations seeking to upgrade their antiquated client/server ERP systems. NetSuite continues its success in delivering the best cloud ERP/financial suites to businesses around the world, enabling them to lower IT costs significantly while increasing productivity, as the global adoption of the cloud accelerates.
