NetSuite announces new customers upgrading from Sage to the NetSuite cloud

Hub Pen, Seraph Science, SIGNWarehouse, SLA Mobile and United Exchange Corporation Abandon Cost and Complexity of On-Premise Sage for Rapid Growth with NetSuite's Business Management Suite

SAN MATEO, Calif.—July 31, 2014—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, today announced continued strong momentum among organisations converting from on-premise Sage ERP systems to NetSuite's cloud business management suite. Fast-growing companies such as UK-based Seraph Science, Ireland-based SLA Mobile, and US-based Hub Pen Company, SIGNWarehouse and United Exchange Corporation are among the more than 500 organisations to abandon Sage for the greater business agility, visibility, flexibility and scalability for growth that is possible with NetSuite's integrated suite for financials / ERP, CRM, ecommerce and professional services automation (PSA). By moving to NetSuite, former Sage users such as EcoBox, Cequal Products, Ibex Outdoor Clothing, Mountz Incorporated, Just Marketing International and Harvey Maria have been able to:

  • Improve business efficiency by eliminating redundant data entry and the time, cost and errors associated with using separate systems for accounting, sales, customer support, marketing, inventory and ecommerce.
  • Gain a comprehensive real-time view across the Organisation with flexible, on-demand reporting and role-based dashboards.
  • Eliminate significant IT cost and complexity with NetSuite's proven, secure cloud solution that eliminates the hassles of managing, maintaining and upgrading business applications.
  • Grow the business with the broader functionality that Sage lacks, including CRM and cross-channel B2B and B2C commerce on websites and physical point-of-sale (POS) locations.
  • Gain greater mobility in distributed environments, with personnel at multiple domestic or international locations able to access the system on demand without the need for an unreliable VPN connection.
  • Expand the business with new acquisitions, subsidiaries and geo-specific locations with the NetSuite OneWorld global business management solution and its capabilities for multi-subsidiary management, global financial consolidation, multi-currency conversions and local taxation support.

UK-based Seraph Science, Ireland-based SLA Mobile, and US-based Hub Pen Company, SIGNWarehouse and United Exchange Corporation are among the companies running their growth-oriented businesses faster and more cost-efficiently in the NetSuite cloud.

Seraph Science (www.seraphscience.com) is a London-based marketing company providing services to technology firms wanting to reach C-level executives. The business was formed in April 2013 and launched on NetSuite based on the experiences of its founder and CEO, James Harris. James had used Sage and other applications for CRM and marketing in fragmented environments at three previous companies. At each of those companies, personnel struggled with poor visibility and manual work across data silos that limited growth potential. Despite being familiar with Sage, Seraph Science abandoned this environment for NetSuite's unified financials, CRM and marketing solution as an agile foundation for strategic growth. Seraph Science uses NetSuite for its internal processes, as well as a tool in client engagements, consolidating C-level prospect data for clients such as NetSuite, SAS and Appian for multi-week marketing engagements. James estimates Seraph Science is able to operate with 30% less personnel than would otherwise be needed in a fragmented environment of Sage and other applications, and has reduced project delivery times from 12 weeks to eight weeks. NetSuite also provided significant cost efficiencies in comparison to a combination of applications.

"NetSuite has meant we're able to do more projects for clients faster, without adding headcount," James said. "We can be much more agile and test new markets without high setup costs and high risk. As we scale internationally, NetSuite is going to allow us to accelerate very quickly."

SLA Mobile (www.sla-mobile.com), a solutions provider that helps leading mobile operators monetize assets and maximise revenue, has eliminated problems of poor visibility, delays and manual data work since abandoning an unintegrated environment of Sage Line 50 and other applications for NetSuite's unified solution in February 2013.

The global company headquartered in Belfast uses NetSuite OneWorld to manage subsidiaries in Malaysia and the U.K., and to transact in multiple currencies including the Euro and currencies of the U.S., Qatar, Kuwait, Australia and New Zealand, with five more to be added, eliminating what had been one day a month of manual conversions.

"The reporting and flexibility in NetSuite is absolutely amazing and the OneWorld functionality is fantastic," said Colin Simpson, SLA Mobile Financial Controller. "NetSuite has transformed how we do our day-to-day work and ultimately improves our overall business performance. It's an extremely important tool for our growth."

The services-focused SLA Mobile also uses NetSuite Services Resource Planning (SRP) for project accounting, management and resource optimization, as well as time and expense management, across its global client engagements. Meanwhile, the sales team is saving one day a week in what was manual data re-entry between other applications. SLA Mobile has dramatically improved its sales pipeline visibility and financial and services efficiency, while growing its revenue nearly 15 percent in its year on NetSuite.

Hub Pen Company (www.hubpen.com), a leading supplier of writing instruments that produces more than 100 million pens a year for the promotional products industry, has implemented NetSuite to replace an aging Sage Pro application that couldn't keep up with Hub Pen's annual double-digit revenue growth. With the Sage system, for which Sage has announced it is ending support, Hub Pen suffered difficulties accessing data, faced limitations in the number of users and was forced to rely on costly third-party consultants to troubleshoot issues and implement workarounds. After evaluating about 10 competing solutions, including Sage X3 and Epicor, the Braintree, Mass.-based company selected NetSuite for lower upfront cost, workflow-driven pricing, customizability and flexibility. After going live on NetSuite in August 2013, Hub Pen has realised new efficiencies in financials, inventory and order management, and purchasing from dozens of suppliers. Leveraging NetSuite's integrated business management suite, Hub Pen has automated its quote-to-cash cycle across its thousands of distributor customers while enhancing customer support with NetSuite CRM.

"The amount of information we get out of NetSuite is unbelievable—things that took months to do in Sage we can now do on-demand," said Ken Phu, Hub Pen Software Manager. "NetSuite is cutting-edge technology that's really helping us lead the industry. We're able to process all the orders coming in even while we experience growth and still achieve high customer satisfaction and quality of service."

SIGNWarehouse (www.signwarehouse.com), a seller of sign-making supplies and equipment to sign shops and other commercial buyers as well as consumers, moved to NetSuite in January 2012 after experiencing severe scalability problems with Sage MAS 500. The Sage solution's performance grew progressively worse as order volumes grew, while SIGNWarehouse personnel also struggled with data access and reporting. Selecting NetSuite over Microsoft Dynamics GP and SAP Business ByDesign, the Denison, Texas-based company has gained operational efficiencies across its business, enabling it to avoid the cost of two-full personnel in IT and accounting previously required, and cutting its financial close from a month to 10 days or less. By eliminating the manual work and high IT overhead of its previous Sage system, SIGNWarehouse is focusing its resources on growth, driving a significant gain in net profit since going live on NetSuite. NetSuite multi-location inventory management capabilities support efficient warehousing and fulfilment at locations in Texas and Kentucky and give SIGNWarehouse better visibility into its 9,000 active SKUs. The NetSuite SuiteCloud Platform enables SIGNWarehouse to deploy integrated partner solutions from Oz Development, Celigo and Pacejet to further enhance fulfilment efficiency. Replacing Saleslogix, formerly a Sage product, NetSuite's CRM capabilities support sales, service and targeted email marketing with a unified customer record.

"NetSuite has been a huge time- and money-saver for us," said SIGNWarehouse President Chris Gripp. "It was very difficult to get a report out of Sage; with NetSuite it's much easier and more intuitive so we can slice and dice data the way we need it. Moving to NetSuite is one of the best decisions we've made."

United Exchange Corporation (www.ueccorp.com), a distributor and retailer of health, beauty, personal and household care products based in Cerritos, Calif., made its switch to NetSuite after persistent issues and high degrees of manual work became the norm with its Sage Pro solution. UEC was required to engage private IT consultants to implement additional tools for data access and reporting, driving up already high costs and diverting its focus from business growth. Selected after evaluating Sage MAS, Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and Epicor, NetSuite has enabled UEC to increase its efficiency four-fold, while supporting 37 percent revenue growth in its first 12 months of deployment. Going live on NetSuite in January 2013, UEC has streamlined end-to-end processes of selling private label products to Walmart, Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens and other chains, as well as its own label products to wholesalers. Native integration between NetSuite and an EDI solution from NetSuite partner SPS Commerce has eliminated manual work in fulfilling orders from large retailers, which make up close to 80 percent of UEC's transactions.

"We couldn't have grown as fast as we have without NetSuite," said Tom Blaylock, Director of Operations at UEC. "We've gained so much efficiency by eliminating manual processes, and NetSuite reporting provides us with all the information we need at any time. NetSuite was the most manageable, user-friendly product we evaluated and we're confident NetSuite is going to grow with us over the coming years."

Today, more than 20,000 companies and subsidiaries depend on NetSuite to run complex, mission-critical business processes globally in the cloud. Since its inception in 1998, NetSuite has established itself as the leading provider of enterprise-class cloud financials/ERP suites for divisions of large enterprises and mid-sized organisations seeking to upgrade their antiquated client/server ERP systems. NetSuite excels at streamlining business operations as demonstrated in a recent Gartner study naming NetSuite as the fastest growing financial management software vendor on a global basis. NetSuite continues its success in delivering the best cloud ERP/financials suites to businesses around the world, enabling them to lower IT costs significantly while increasing productivity, as the global adoption of the cloud is accelerating.
