Oh My Glasses Fuels omnichannel commerce business growth with NetSuite

NetSuite’s Superior Order and Inventory Management Capabilities Support Growing Company’s New Business Approach With a Rapid Deployment

TOKYO, December 17, 2015—NetSuite Co., Ltd., the Japanese subsidiary of NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry’s leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, (HQ: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Asia-Pacific & Japan Senior Vice President: Lee Thompson. “NetSuite”) today announced that Oh My Glasses Inc. (HQ: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Kiyokawa Tadayasu, “Oh My Glasses”), has implemented NetSuite to support its mission-critical business processes, including accounting, inventory management, order management, purchasing and customer relationship management (CRM) to help support its omnichannel commerce business.

Oh My Glasses TOKYO (run by Oh My Glasses) has grown rapidly since it was founded as an ecommerce eyewear website in 2012, dispelling the widespread misconception that it is difficult to buy glasses online. The company’s dedication to customer satisfaction starts with Japan’s largest eyewear assortment, free shipping of glasses and free at-home trials of up to five pairs of glasses for five days before returning them. As a result, Oh My Glasses has become Japan’s largest online eyewear website.

As it grew, Oh My Glasses expanded its reach through its ecommerce website, a retail store with its Oh My Glasses TOKYO Shibuya Loft Shop in 2014. However, its existing systems, including home-grown accounting software and File Maker, limited visibility into sales and inventory across its ecommerce, retail and wholesale distribution channels. It needed a unified source of information to enable real-time insight into inventory, sales and financial data that could enable it to offer any product, from any channel at the same price.

Oh My Glasses considered SAP and OBIC before selecting NetSuite due to its cloud-based architecture and its ability to grow with the business. After a nine-month implementation, Oh My Glasses went live on NetSuite in August 2015.

With NetSuite, Oh My Glasses is able to analyze and utilise the steadily increasing membership numbers and purchasing data from its ecommerce site, including half a million unique website visitors per month, to transmit the information to brick-and-mortar optician shops and distribution channels. Going forward, the company is aiming to create a true omnichannel experience, where an Oh My Glasses TOKYO customer can order and receive their eyewear whenever and wherever they want it. For this purpose, the company continues to accelerate the implementation of additional NetSuite capabilities.

“In addition to online orders, our store and wholesale businesses have really taken off,” said Oh My Glasses CEO Mr. Kiyokawa. “By the first half of 2014, we urgently needed to rebuild our mission-critical systems to support the diversification of our sales channels. Our next-generation business model integrated our sales and distribution channels across our online sites and brick-and-mortar stores so that any individual product can be purchased from any sales channel at the same price. We concluded that NetSuite had the only real-time cloud platform that could help us achieve our omnichannel commerce objectives.”
