Powering Happier, Healthier Lives with Environmentally-Friendly Products

Allen Johnston was working as a successful engineer in the defense industry when his mother, a longtime teacher, contracted an environmental illness after moving to a new school and eventually died from complications related to it. He decided to dedicate himself to creating environmentally-friendly products that improve people’s lives. Thus, he founded Greentech Environmental with three friends, initially working out of his basement until the business took off.

Inspired by Nature
Since its founding in 2009, Greentech has grown to offer more than 50 products, including fans, heaters and more using “technology inspired by nature,” available in stores and ecommerce sites throughout the world. With four warehouses and manufacturing in both USA and China, Greentech’s brand stands for quality and performance and now distributes to 20 different countries.
Outgrowing existing infrastructure
As the company grew exponentially each year and expanded beyond affiliate marketing to big box retailers, ecommerce, OEM manufacturing and a global presence, the limitations of Greentech’s QuickBooks system became apparent. Leadership needed analytics and visibility, sales needed better access, and retail partners needed faster turn time.
Database breakdown inspires system makeover
After Greentech’s database actually broke under the weight of the rapid growth, halting operations for days, the company implemented NetSuite, working closely with NetSuite Professional Services to go live in a rapid time frame with minimal business disruption.
Greater tech, greener future
Greentech continues to add functionality. It is evaluating Advanced Customer Support to more quickly add greater CRM capabilities, integration with Ring Central and subsidiary management in OneWorld to its existing financials, reporting, warranty tracking and inventory control.
